Activities of AIHDA

AIHDA regularly undertakes a diverse range of professional and developmental activities aimed at strengthening the housing sector in India. These include:

  • Organization of seminars, workshops and conferences at national and international levels

  • Training programmes on technical, financial, legal, administrative, management and policy aspects of housing

  • Knowledge dissemination initiatives, including publication of journals and recorders

Till March 2024, AIHDA has successfully accomplished:

  • 69 Seminars & Workshops

  • 14 National Conventions

  • 21 Annual General Meetings (AGMs)

  • 41 Journals Published

  • 28 Recorders Published

These activities have been conducted across various locations in the country, contributing significantly to professional capacity building and sectoral development.

AIHDA is committed to strengthening housing development in India through policy support, knowledge sharing, and capacity enhancement. The key objectives are:

  • To provide a platform for the expression of collective opinion of members on matters related to housing development.

  • To promote the adoption and development of standard specifications for housing and related infrastructure.

  • To organize regular meetings, discussions and forums on technical, financial, administrative and policy-related housing matters.

  • To recommend improved systems of administration, planning, designing, construction and maintenance of housing.

  • To undertake consultancy assignments related to housing development, training initiatives, housing project formulation, preparation of project reports and other allied professional services.

Sources of Revenue

AIHDA sustains its operations through structured and accountable revenue mechanisms. The primary sources of revenue include:

  • Annual Membership Subscriptions from existing and new members, primarily State Government agencies such as Urban Local Bodies, State Housing Boards, Development Authorities, etc.

  • Grants and Contributions received from members and other stakeholders

  • Interest Income from fixed deposits

  • Sponsorship Support from organizations participating in AIHDA programmes, workshops, seminars and other activities

These financial resources enable AIHDA to continuously support housing development initiatives and capacity-building programmes across the nation.
