Objective & Functions

Objectives of AIHDA

AIHDA is committed to strengthening housing development in India through policy support, knowledge sharing, and capacity enhancement. The key objectives are:

  • To provide a platform for the expression of collective opinion of members on matters related to housing development.

     

  • To promote the adoption and development of standard specifications for housing and related infrastructure.

     

  • To organize regular meetings, discussions and forums on technical, financial, administrative and policy-related housing matters.

     

  • To recommend improved systems of administration, planning, designing, construction and maintenance of housing.

     

  • To undertake consultancy assignments related to housing development, training initiatives, housing project formulation, preparation of project reports and other allied professional services.

Functions of AIHDA

AIHDA performs the following core functions to support housing development and associated sectors:

  • Provides a common national platform for organizations, institutions, professionals and individuals associated with the field of housing and human settlements.

     

  • Functions as a consortium of advisory services to support assignments and initiatives connected with human habitat and housing development.

     

Acts as a specialized training and capacity-building organization, dedicated to updating knowledge, upgrading professional skills, and encouraging informed thought and innovation in the housing sector.
